V.G. Siddhartha belonged to a family having an agricultural background, actually a prosperous family. They own about 350 acres of coffee. 


Siddhartha Hegde now known as V.G. Siddhartha holds a Masters in Economics from Mangalore University. Karnataka. He's the chairman of the Amalgamated Bean Coffee Trading Company Ltd.(ABCTCL)


ABCTCL is the largest exporter of Coffee in India.Cafe Coffee Day has about 1250 retail outlets spread over India.
